![]() ![]() I was able to remove the t-nuts and only harmed two of the holes which I refilled with wood putty. A big gasp came out of me and I just couldn't believe I made that mistake. I had the speaker on the wrong side and didn't realize it until I put the t-nuts in and attached the speaker to it. Thanks to Rob for answering all my questions. I was a little intimidated but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. This is the first baffle I have ever made. I used this method to replace the baffle. Since the Twin Reverb cabinet was from the 70s it had the glued in baffle so I searched the internet for how to replace a glued in baffle and found Rob DiStefano's site. So I put the Twin Reverb in the Pro Reverb cabinet and decided to build a 1x15 baffle for the Twin cabinet that would eventually house the modded Pro Reverb. I had heard the Twin Reverb could fit in a Pro reverb cab and vise versa. I had been looking for a Twin and finally found a Twin Reverb that sounded good enough to buy and ended up with a 1971 non-master volume Twin Reverb. I thought about buying a new cabinet, but just didn't want to spend that kind of money. I found out a 1x15 baffle wouldn't fit in the Pro Reverb cabinet because the cabinet was not tall enough. The next thing was getting a baffle for the 15" speaker. The 47 ohm resistor does make a noticeable change. ![]() The feedback loop in the Vibroverb ends with a 47 ohm resistor, while the other amps have a 100 ohm. (Pro Reverb does not have a middle control so nothing to do here.) This control can either be eliminated or installed on the back panel. The Super Reverb and Bandmaster Reverbs had a middle control on the Vibrato channel, the blackface Vibroverb did not. These usually have a 2, 4, and 8 ohm secondary so they can be used with amps such as the blackface Bassman, Super Reverb, and an 8 ohm amp that never had a transformer this big. These are usually the same size as the Super Reverb, which is the larger one. The main things that are needed to convert a Super Reverb, Pro Reverb, or Bandmaster Reverb to a Vibroverb are the output transformer (for 8 ohm load), tone controls, the feedback loop, and the speaker.įor the output transformer, a good one to use is a multi tap secondary one available from most Fender parts suppliers. ![]()
